Acrylic Painting in the Manner of Watercolor and Oil

Workshop Description: Paint representational subjects as you would watercolors and oils.

A 2-day workshop running Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th.

Supply List

Subject Reference Materials: Photographs and magazine pictures of subjects having distinctive shapes.

Drawing Materials: Some blank typing paper and a soft pencil.

Painting Materials: One sheet of 30 by 40-inch cold press watercolor board or one 30by 40-inch medium or heavy weight cold press illustration board. A 17 by 24-inch piece of plywood (smooth on one side) or gator board. Tubes of primary red (such as Quinacridone Rose), blue (like Phthalocyanine Blue) and yellow (such as Cadmium Yellow Light), Titanium White and Mars Black acrylic paint. If you like, bring secondary green (such as Phthalocyanine Green), orange (like Pyrrol Orange) and purple (such as Dioxazine Purple). A synthetic one-inch flat watercolor brush and a number 10 or 12 synthetic round watercolor brush. A one-inch flat stiff bristle oil painting brush and a round stiff bristle oil painting brush. A palette knife.

A Wide-Mouth Water Bucket. One-inch Masking Tape. Paper Towels. Spray Bottle. Face Mask.

Class size is limited. A waiting list will be used. All students are required to fill out and sign this registration form. This is an adult class, with teens accepted with the instructor’s approval. Signing this registration releases Wes Hanson, Spokane Art Supply and associates of all responsibility for damages or harm incurred.
